Presently busy drinking it...will post more soon!!!
The Show Cabernet Sauvignon
Anyone that knows me, knows that I live for this particular awesome bottle of wine! It is our number one go-to for a good glass of red. I'd be willing to bet that since we discovered this fabulous wine, we've gone through about 5 or 6 cases of the stuff (over the course of about 3 years, mind you!)
This is the third vintage of The Show from Three Thieves, an winery dedicated to making affordable, easy-drinking wines. Dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from California's Central Coast and North Coast AVAs, this 2007 also includes a touch of Petite Sirah that adds depth of color and lovely violet aromas to the wine. Bold with jammy black cherry fruit and layers of sweet vanilla spice, this is a great everyday Cab. Let the Show begin.
Tobin James "Ballistic" Zinfandel
I discovered this gem a few years ago and have grown to love it more and more...so much, that we always keep a couple on hand, at all times! I can't begin to tell you how elated we were when we discovered it at Costco, for a mere $12/bottle!!! SCORE!
A blend of fruit from 21 different Paso Robles appellation vineyards, including a large proportion from the famed Dusi Vineyard, the 2006 Tobin James "Ballistic" looks like a gem heist in a glass. Bursting with peppery berry fruit on the nose, it's decadent on the palate, with lots of blackberry, black cherry and black currant flavors. Hints of savory herb, oak spice and black pepper and a great acidic lift make this a lovely wine to have with braised short ribs or veal saltimbocca.
